SIMMAN Acute Scenarios – PLAB 2 / UKMLA

Simulate to Succeed. Real Emergencies, Real Practice, Real Scores

£9.99

About the course

In PLAB 2 and the UKMLA clinical OSCE, you're almost guaranteed to face at least one SIMMAN acute/emergency scenario — and it can often make or break your exam performance. This course has been specially designed to help International Medical Graduates (IMGs) from the subcontinent, Africa, and the Middle East feel confident and prepared for real-time emergencies under exam pressure.

You’ll be taught by a former PLAB aspirant who passed with distinction and went on to work in a busy NHS Emergency Department, bringing real-world clinical experience into every session.

What this course offers:

  • Full breakdown of high-yield acute scenarios using a SIMMAN model (e.g., cardiac arrest, sepsis, anaphylaxis, MI, hypoglycaemia, asthma attack)
  • Learn to lead the emergency confidently and communicate clearly with the simulated nurse or examiner
  • Step-by-step structure: A to E assessment, SBAR handovers, NEWS2 interpretation
  • Tips on how to stay calm and prioritise tasks in time-limited stations
  • Realistic practice that mirrors what examiners want to see in the station

Why this is essential for IMGs:

  • Acute care simulation may be unfamiliar to many doctors trained outside the UK
  • Helps you think, act, and speak like a UK-trained doctor under pressure
  • Clarifies NHS protocols, emergency documentation, and escalation pathways
  • Trainer has walked the same path — from IMG to PLAB to NHS ED
